Areas of Special Expertise: |
I work with people on both short term issue specific work and longer term personal growth work. I incorporate parts of both Western psychology and Eastern philosophy, particularly Buddhist psychology. My primary Western methods are somatic psychotherapy, which uses the body to access the unconscious, and Gestalt therapy, which approaches the significance of one's past in terms of its influence in the present. My work with couples focuses on communication and, when applicable, cross-cultural issues. Individual issues that I work with include depression, anxiety, relationship issues, cultural challenges, trauma, grief, substance abuse, life transitions, and eating disorders. |
